@@raulin44 The Mosconi 8/30 is 48kHz/24 bit. The Mosconi Aerospace DSP is 96kHz/24bit. The Brax DSP is 192kHz/24bit same with the hi end Zapco’s DSP. That being said it doesn’t really matter as it’s all about the recording and I wouldn’t get hung up on numbers. Just because something can play say 192kHz/24bit doesn’t mean it’s going to sound good. The SMSL PO100 Pro can pass through 192kHz/24bit but like i mentioned there is only a few DSP’s that can handle 192kHz/24bit after the signal has been converted to analog.

@@platinum900kable The Hertz ML280.3 is a decent tweeter and if you have a good install and tune it should sound good. As for the GB25 i have been focusing on my home PC setup the last six months so the A pillars have taken the back seat

@@VeneraSGF Yes, the high end Zapco’s with the replacement 9038pro DAC’s have had a lot of issues along with many software issues.

@@VeneraSGF If you watch Peter then you know it’s not about the products it’s about the install and tune. If you have mid bass speakers in your doors it’s pointless to put another brand of speaker in your doors as you’re not fixing the problem. Kicks or IB is the best solution for clean mid bass. As far as putting speakers in the dash I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited x and the only spot for speakers in the dash is a Center channel location and there is no DSP on the market that does a good Center channel image so it’s pointless. I prefer Matt Staffers from the US builds over Peters as I find they look a lot better aesthetics wise. That’s why I haven’t added a mid to my system as I haven’t found anyone that can make a good looking A pillar.

@@VeneraSGF I would never buy a Zapco DSP period as the software has issue after issue you just don’t hear Peter talk about it because he sells them but you hear a lot of other people that compete talk about the software issues. The benefit of the Helix/Brax/Match DSP’s is the software as it’s still better than every other DSP software on the market.

@CarAudioHorizons why Google search when I can watch a video of its functions? Seems to just be a glorified volume knob. Old but still works. Actually replacing it with a DSP3.S so wanted to check out if the director is worth getting.

@@vongdong10 The conductor is the better option price wise but you don’t get everything the Director does and there are a few more options with the Director if you have the Helix Hec BT HD installed

@@na93prepre You will have a great system if the install and tune are on point. I went with the Mosconi AS amps for a few reasons. The first being I had the AS200.2 already which I knew I was going to use with my Audio Frog GB60’s as I want plenty of headroom as it’s slightly over 200w RMS at 4ohm. But what sealed the deal is the distributor for Mosconi at the time where I live in Edmonton was changing brands so they sold their remaining brand new stock at like 1/4 of the price. So I picked up the AS100.4 and 300.2 dirt cheap, I believe $350 for the AS100.4 and $450 for the AS300.2 Canadian dollars. The AS300.2 is perfect for subs as it’s 1800 plus watts at 2ohms which is more than enough for me. I was also going to get a Mosconi Zero 4 but they sold the last two the day I bought the 300.2. I still might get one as I need two more channels or more if I do mids and an upfront sub. The Mosconi AS are AB amps and I prefer the sound of them over anything class D. Looks wise the only amps I like better are the Mosconi Pros. Zapco AP amps are nice looking as well and I almost went with them but their six channel has slight less power. The Mosconi Pro 4/30 class A/AB is the best amplifier I have heard to date but it ain’t cheap! So to sum it all up Class AB, Lots of power and I like the looks of them and they have been in lots of cars in the past that have many sound quality competitions. I won the competition I went to and had the second highest score in Canada at a MECA event two years ago and actually beat everyone including the Focal Rep that was using the Mosconi Zero amps and had the Focal Utopia M three way. I scored an 82.5 for SQ but that’s because I have a really good tune.

I too enjoy AB amps as the separates in my home system are all AB, but I was considering the AudioFrog's because Andy had an interesting and persuasive option on class D amps and the reasoning behind his choice to provide the market with class D. Congrats on second place and on beating the Focal rep!

@na93prepre I was first overall in the competition but second in Canada for the year for all classes score wise. The guy that had the most points was in Master Class out of Ontario. Thats why I always get a kick out people saying brand x is better than brand z. It’s all about the tune and install and always will be. It’s like Audio Frog GB speakers can sound like ass if the install and tune are messed up, just like any other brand.

@@JoeDionTrisnadi In my vehicle I have a PAC Audio Amp Pro that has a Toslink output so if I use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto it’s a digital signal to the DSP. When I was using my Fiio M17 I preferred analog into my DSP slightly over the coaxial input but if your DAP is not the flagship then it’s best to go coaxial input but when using Android Auto the audio will always go through the USB.

@@raulin44 You mean optical input. You can buy the SMSL PO 100 Pro and connect your Ibasso to that via usb c and then go optical out. Test that out with your phone and see if it makes a difference

I currently use the ibasso al amas 96 k, a hi-res bluetooth device that is connected to the amplifier and through bluetooth with the ibasso with the l-dac codec I listen to the music and it sounds spectacular!! but there must be some way to listen to ibasso via direct cable!! I need an optical input since the ibasso only has coaxial and the amp only has optical!! I hope I have explained, greetings!!

@@raulin44 Yes, I know the Ibasso only has coaxial output and your Mosconi Amp/DSP only has optical input. Thats why I said buy an SMSL PO 100 Pro and connect the ibasso to the SMSL PO 100 Pro and then go Optical into your Optical input on your Mosconi Amp/DSP. Then test your phone as well with the SMSL PO 100 Pro. I have videos on this in my channel.

I have thought about buying the fiio btr30 pro since you speak very highly of it and it also has optical output!! The only thing is, I have an Android phone and the ibasso!! would it work for me? thank you

@@MartinBerends-o2y I have mine in a ported enclosure. I might do an upfront sub at some point in time and then do 12’s in the back but if I do that I have to sound deaden my whole vehicle as it’s just at about 40% right now

@@isaiahparker7433 It’s recommended power is 15-100 watts RMS so you should be fine. I always say it’s better to have more power but that’s just me I like lots of headroom.

@@diepphankhanh2172 Each source needs to be tuned separately. The FiiO M11 Plus Ltd isn’t plug & play no DAP’s are. When used as a source in car audio they need to be set up like one, meaning separate tune for it. In all honesty when you are putting together your car audio system you need to know what you plan to use a your source or source’s as then you would know that the Hekix V 12 and the Helix V 8 which are good dsp/amps but they lack a coaxial digital input which the Helix .3s, Pro 2 and Ultra and Ultra S all have. I’m not a fan of the all in one dsp/amp I like separate dsp and separate amps as they are a lot more flexible and you’re not limited in connections and power.

@@zainjaved4309 You left out what your equipment is such as what DSP? Also your tune is probably only set for analog and not digital.

Majority of the time i have the shop do it, then afterwards i do upgrades.....Actually my DEX-P99RS - Stage 4 HU has a 30 band DSP EQ for L n R only. Yes I never tuned a dsp and half the time when i look at this one from the HU (Small screen) im like what is these and that...im afraid to make any changes lol.. this small build of mine was more for SQ n clarity

You can’t go wrong with any of the Helix DSP’s and the PRS99 was an excellent head unit along with all the other PRS line that Pioneer brought out that year as I had it all at one time. That was by far the best equipment Pioneer ever brought out.

The problem with the entry level to mid priced DAP’s that have come out in the last year just don’t sound as good as previous years DAP’s. There is just nothing that’s came out recently that is a good deal for what you get. If you had a DSP then I would say just buy an SMSL PO 100 Pro and go optical or coaxial digital into the DSP as that sounds better than any DAP under a $1,000 CAD

@pxKappa Most streaming Music services do 24/192 Apple, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon etc… The SMSL PO 100 is strictly a digital transport so you need a DAC unless you meant the AK version?

@@CarAudioHorizons as far as I know there's no need for a DAC because USB is digital just as the optical connection. I don't need to convert the signal to analog, which is the case for the AK variant (from USB to RCA). as long as it gives me a way to send data over optical (which my laptop doesn't have) that's all I need. I believe it achieves just that. 👍 I just wanted to know if it's capable of those claimed sample/bitrates when I set it up to send all my laptop audio through it, including playing high bitrate tracks over the USB to optical connection going to the active speakers. I'm guessing it'll show the PO100 Pro as a playback device on the laptop and not what it's connected to. I've seen it tested with 48kHz and it worked flawlessly, so if it can handle at least 96kHz I'll live just fine with it. you're doing on the car basically the same thing I want to do on the laptop. you don't want BT sound so you found a way to "transport" it, as you called it, over a wire (receive from data and play it over USB to COAX digital). on my case I want it to receive USB sound from the laptop and send through optical with full quality, whatever it might be set to, up to those 192kHZ. sorry if I didn't manage to explain myself too well the 1st time 🙏

@@pxKappa I’m not sure of your entire set up but the SMSL PO 100 Pro will go up to 192kHz and it displays the colour for the sample rate. You can download the manual as it tells you all this there. I’m currently using it right now only I’m using Coaxial Digital and it plays everything it says it does. I wouldn’t worry too much about the difference between 24/96 and 24/192 as you will never hear any difference even on expensive equipment as it’s more to do with the recording.

@@nickz6143 It’s pretty straightforward you download the latest software tool on your laptop and then update your DSP/AMP and then update the Director. Get a hold of MSC I’m sure there is a fix for it.

@@CarAudioHorizonsI plugged my laptop directly into the v eight amp/dsp and opened the new dsp tool software and nothing happens except it goes into demo mode? If I plug directory into the director I get a message saying it isn’t compatible. If I update the director first I get a message saying it is a non AOC device. If it is an AOC device please plug directly into the device. Hence I plug it into the V Eight and F@ck all happens. This is the most frustrating paperweight I have ever dealt with in car audio. Not worth $2300 Canadian at all for the trouble.

@nickz6143 I take it you didn’t buy this brand new and you keep calling it a paper weight which is telling me you are making this all up. As common sense says if you bought it brand new you would just call whoever you bought it from and they would take a look at it. As like I said this is pretty basic as step 1. Update to the latest Software Tool on your laptop. Step 2. Plug your laptop into the Helix DSP/AMP and then update it. Step 3. Update the Director. It should not be going into Demo mode.

Yes, the SMSL PO 100 has been the best product I have used when going digital into a DSP using an iPhone.

@@sohailahamed7113If you’re talking direct connect then you can connect it via auxiliary input if that’s available to you. Some of the Astell and Kern DAP’s have optical output.

@@sohailahamed7113 Yes, as long as you have an optical toslink input or coaxial digital input on your Amp/DSP then you can use your iPhone with a SMSL PO100 Pro. You will also have to buy Apple’s camera adapter

@@bjclenster I’m not saying every unit was faulty, I just received two 🍋 To me that’s a quality control issue and I seen another person just the other day complain about the same thing. So from what I have seen it’s 4 people that have had the same issues

@@user-nm1ql9ff3b I only use Apple iPhones so I can’t comment on the Android phones. I can say I never had any issues using the Fiio M17 as a DAC with my IPhone and IPad. The two M23’s I had issues with pretty much everything which I’m assuming I received two 🍋

@@neilsnyder7915 You obviously never seen my other videos if you’re trying to question me doing something wrong 😆 I have had almost every Fiio DAP since they started making DAP’s years ago, and some of those X3, X5, M11, M11 Plus LTD, M11S, M17 I have owned it did thorough reviews on. Most of Fiio’s DAP’s haven’t changed much in the last 5 years in fact I would say some have gotten worse since the M17 came out. I bought two M23’s and both had the same issues and more than likely lemons 🍋 I wasn’t going to buy a third as even if it had zero issues the sound stage is extremely narrow and it’s just plain Jane when it comes to it’s sound signature and the only good thing about it was its noise floor. The bass and mid bass is mediocre and the mids are also just average, the highs are tamed down from their previous DAP’s but there isn’t much separation in the instruments and overall just wasn’t that revealing. If it was priced at the M11s range then I would say it would be an excellent entry level DAP but at $1,000 CAD it was underwhelming

@@arupian666 I have tested a few Astell & Kern DAP’s but for the most part just with headphones. The SP2000 sounded really good but I never had the chance to try it out with my car audio system. I tried the SR15, 25 and the old Khan in my system and they were all mediocre. The FiiO M17 is still the best DAP I have tested in my vehicle but I will buy another flagship DAP this year. Will see what Astell and Kern bring out later this year or early next year to beat the SP3000

@@pauldoyle8986 Like I said in the video just use the 3.5 output to auxiliary. I have no clue what deck you have or it’s voltage it will except just be careful on the volume on the M17 as you don’t want to fry the auxiliary input.

This wasn’t a review as I did the review on this product a while back. It was just saying it’s a great budget friendly option for those that want to use their phones to go digitally to their DSP’s and then more rambling about DAP’s and car audio 😆

@@MrAlberto356 You asked the same question on my other video. If you have an alpine head unit it would be pointless using a topping DX1 into it as they’re probably equivalent SQ wise. If you’re going to use a DAC/AMP DAC/DAP it needs to be better than your head unit

@satyavratadas1640 The SMSL PO 100 Pro uses the latest XMOS 3rd generation USB solution XU316 where as the Topping D10S or D10B uses XMOS XU208. That being said you can’t go wrong with either. Sound wise in my vehicle it’s close but I slightly prefer the SMSL but I would buy both and keep the one that has the least amount of connection issues. I haven’t used the Topping since I did the review so it’s been quite some time.

@@CarAudioHorizonsdid you experience a gain in SQ after getting the audioquest cables? Especially the coaxial cable? I read digital is digital and all that a lot but in my experience everything ACTUALLY makes a difference. My iphone to topping to helix sounds much different to my ipad pro to topping to helix. Both being completely digital yet there’s a huge difference in sound. So i’m thinking of tossing out my unbranded toslink cable for an audioquest coaxial, IF it makes a difference in sound. @@zainjaved4309 I liked the Audioquest cinnamon coaxial digital audio cable but blue Jeans coaxial cable is also good but the Audioquest are easier to install as they can bend whereas the Blue Jeans coaxial digital cable is stiff. Those are the two I prefer over the ones I have used in the past.

If you can use a PAC Amp Pro or something similar I would use that so that you get the best sound quality possible. Cutting wires should always be the last option if there is no interface for your vehicle. Also every vehicle is different so there is no one solution.

@@vvc_21 Idata maestro is coming out with a combination of their AR/RR probably in the next 3-6 months for certain vehicles which should be decent as it has optical input and output

I would save your money and get the Helix DSP.3S as it has coaxial digital input and optical input whereas the mini only has optical input. It’s worth saving for so then in the future you have more options if you want to add things to your system. The worst thing you can do is buy something that isn’t 100% what you want. Trust me people do this all the time especially in car audio and end up losing a lot of money.

@@CarAudioHorizons Nice!! The problem is that in my country we actually have few options for a reasonable price as people here love to hear terrible music and spend as less as possible. When we go for some nice equip, the prices are ultra high and we have few options. We dont even have the Helix DSP3s here unless we import it and I have to dig for some old stock nice dsp some seller couldn't sell yet. Another option would be a chinese sennuopu. Very cheap and some russians tested it with good results. Do you have any experience with this brand? I know its not a traditional or fancy brand, but it seems to use some nice chips and capacitors and etc some good brands also use. The software seems to be simple and straightforward with no bugs. What do you think about the DP-X812, for example? Thanks, bro!

@@jeandippolito9880 Helix still has the best DSP’s so if you’re asking me I’m always going to suggest Helix or Brax for a DSP. That being said the most important part of car audio is the installation and tune.

@@MrAlberto356 buying the Fiio K3 would be pointless in your situation. If you’re unhappy with the sound quality you have make sure the installation and tune is as good as it can get. Once that’s accomplished and you’re still not satisfied then you have to replace whatever the weak link is in your system is.

This would be pointless as the whole reason to use it is to run either optical or coaxial digital out of it into your DSP so you have a digital connection. Using it ‘s DAC that just entry level to go into your DSP which DAC is probably slightly better makes no sense.
